Dego of the award-winning duo 4hero and the critically acclaimed 2000Black.
Born and raised in London of Jamaican parents, Dego now resides in Brooklyn,
New York. He is recognized as an Award-Winner, Tastemaker, Songwriter, International DJ and genre defying Music Producer who delves into an eclectic diet of Dub, Roots Reggae, Soul, Electro, Hip-Hop and Fantasy Jazz.
As the head of the enegmatic 2000Black imprint, Dego’s energy is focused on
performing and generating the sound of London Boogie and hybrid soulful beats that often forge into the unknown territories of Black music alongside his brother in music, Kaidi Tatham. Both revered as London town’s most important musical visionaries, always having pioneered forward-thinking soulful music across all tem- pos and never restrained by genre, only influenced by quality.
With a genre defying collection of studio recordings demonstrating all that has
influenced 2000Black, Dego has released multiple ground-breaking albums and projects such as “DKD”, “Silhouette Brown” and most recently “A Next Set A Rockers” amongst others.
In addition, 4hero has won a multitude of world reknown awards and nominations
for “Two Pages”, “Creating Patterns” and continues to achieve recognition for “Play With The Changes”.
As a pioneer who has made genre guidelines obsolete, Dego has subsequently
heavily influenced the evolutionary course of underground Electronica and the
Electro Soul sound. Only a few musical stones have been left untouched after pro- ducing or songwriting for artists such as Larry Mizell, Roy Ayers, Digable Planet’s Butterfly, Madlib, J*Davey, Canadian-based and award-winnning R&B songstress Ivana Santilli as well as remixes for Masters At Work, UK’s Pulp and Neneh Cherry to name a few.
